Petition against TfL's bus stop build-outs on Earl's Court Road

Following our successful petition to remove the plastic barriers on Earl's Court Road, we now need to go further.

We want TfL to reinstate the bus stop pull-ins back to how they were before, and perhaps rethink their locations. The current road is too narrow for all the traffic being funnelled into it, making it dangerous for cyclists and scooters being trapped by buses and HGVs. When bicycles are forced onto the pavements, they in turn become dangerous to pedestrians.

Earl's Court Road is owned and controlled by the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and TfL, who use the road as a London-wide strategic route that signposts traffic from all over London, especially the A4 and A40 to use it as a through road to all parts of the city. It is not controlled or owned by RBKC and we have little powers over it. That is why we are once again asking for your support.

As your local Councillors, we will also continue to keep up the pressure on TfL to implement changes that residents actually want, not what TfL think we want. We believe TfL needs to rethink the road scheme and improve Earl’s Court Road for the benefit of both residents and visitors.

Petition against TfL's bus stop build-outs on Earl's Court Road

  • Current Your details

We, the undersigned, call upon The Mayor of London and TfL to urgently review, in close consultation with concerned local residents, the bus stop build-outs on Earl's Court Road. In view of the many problems and dangers this scheme has created for pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicle users, narrowing of Earl's Court Road must end.
