Join Holland Ward Conservatives as they host the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities & Local Government, The Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP, at this reception with artisan gin provided by G&I Spirit Group.
Robert was promoted to the Cabinet by the Prime Minister when he took office in July and has enjoyed a meteoric rise to an important Government role. He was elected at a by-election in Newark in 2014 - the first Conservative to be elected in a by-election since William Hague won his Richmond seat. Just a year in to the role, he was appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretary to Liz Truss MP, going on to work for Michael Gove and then finally as Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury prior to him joining the Cabinet.
Robert was born in Wolverhampton in 1982 and grew up in Shropshire. He went to school at Wolverhampton Grammar School. He read History at St. John’s College, Cambridge University, gaining a First Class degree. With a Thouron scholarship he then spent a year in the USA, studying Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to being elected, he worked for law firm Skadden and as International Managing Director for the leading art business, Christie’s.
Robert will talk over drinks and canapés about the priorities for his department, ensuring we build new homes and provide funding for communities as we prepare to leave the EU.
Tickets: £30 including drinks and canapés
Location: Mark Wilkinson Furniture, 126 Holland Park Avenue, London W11 4UE
