Sadiq Khan wants to cut the 452 bus route back so it no longer serves North Kensington and instead stops in Kensington Church Street. The consultation is now live, so make your views known.
That’s cutting in half the number of buses you can currently catch from Notting Hill Gate to St Charles Hospital and Ladbroke Grove.
What will this mean for you:
- Fewer buses to and from North Kensington and Notting Hill Gate and the tube connection
- Less space for disabled buggies and prams
- Long waits between buses - 10 minutes if you’re lucky, and even longer on Sundays
- More crowded buses at peak times and at the end of the school day
- Having to hop off one bus and walk two blocks to continue your journey on – that’s a challenge for the less able people or those with children or pets in tow or buggies and for some folk to pay twice
- Longer journey time as people will have to change buses and walk to the next stop in Palace Gardens Terrace or Kensington Park Road
TfL's consultation is now live, and you can respond to it HERE. When making an objection, please think about the points above, especially the impact it will have on the less able and those with prams.
The 452 bus used to go as far as Kensal Rise, until it was curtailed due to streetscape works to terminate at Ladbroke Grove Sainsbury's. We would support not only the retention of the service to Ladbroke Grove, but resuming the service as far as Kensal Rise Station.
People power has saved routes from the Mayor's cuts before, so please share this with anyone who you think will be interested, and let's make our voice heard.
