Redcliffe resident survey

The lockdown measures introduced in response to COVID-19 have had a huge impact on our local businesses, including our restaurants.

As part of a broader package of measures to help them get back on their feet, we have already made a number of changes across Kensington & Chelsea, including in Redcliffe. For example, you may have seen the Council recently suspended a small number of parking bays on Hollywood Road in order to allow the restaurants and bars there to put more tables outside. This will help their viability at a time when the number of customers allowed indoors is significantly reduced.

We are now keen to get your views on two longer-term schemes in Redcliffe Ward that we think would be beneficial to both residents and restaurants alike:

1) Creating a 'shared space' for traffic and pedestrians on Hollywood Road (between Fawcett St & Cathcart Rd only), which would allow slow moving traffic to pass, but would give pedestrians much greater use of the road space, much like Pavilion Road. It would also mean more tables and chairs could be put outside by the restaurants.

2) Widening the pavement on Old Brompton Road (south side only), between Drayton Gardens and Cresswell Gardens, to allow for chairs and tables outside as well as the free flow of pedestrians.

Any measures introduced on a local level should have the support of residents. Please give us your views on these schemes, to decide whether it should progress to the next stages, which would include a feasibility study and a formal consultation:
