In Kensington and Chelsea, 98 per cent of schools are rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted - one of the best performances in the country.
Recently a recommendation was made that Holland Park School join a large multi-academy trust. And we know that this has impacted our community. As your Local Conservative Team, we believe that decisions about our children’s education are best made by local people. That is why we share parents’ concerns about a decision to absorb Holland Park School into a multi-academy trust where the head office is based outside London.
We have already made strong representation to the school and ministers, urging them to consider the wider implications and the views of the community. And now we are calling for the decision to be paused, so that parents can be consulted properly – and ensure local voices are heard about the future of our school.
We support Holland Park School becoming part of a small, local multi-academy trust with Kensington Aldridge Academy, an outstanding school in our Borough.
