Our Conservative-led Council is working to keep crime low in our Borough.
In the past eighteen months, we have introduced Community Wardens - new enforcement officers to tackle low-level offenses, such as fly-tipping, idling and anti-social behaviour. A resident steering group has helped pick locations for new CCTV cameras in the borough, following a £500,000 investment. We are also working closely with local police to ensure that there are 'bobbies on the beat' in our wards. We know that a police presence is needed in each part of the Borough, and were pleased to have persuaded the Metropolitan Police to keep Royalty Studios Police Station, North Kensington, open for an additional year. We are fighting a major campaign to save the Notting Hill Police building, to help ensure a proper police presence is retained in the north of the Borough. We hope that a police counter can again be hosted on the site.
